When I discovered rockclimbing at age 15, I was amazed to find a whole new world that required intense focus, precise judgement and the willingness to take risks. Stepping into the unknown provided huge rewards - it did then and it does now. My life became a quest to share these discoveries - not only about adventure, but also about the hidden potential of life, and I continue to pursue this quest professionally as an adventure guide, a writer, a speaker and a corporate trainer. These have been supported by other skills and knowledge I've picked up along the way, such as photography, web knowledge and what it takes to stay active and healthy decade after decade.
On this website I outline my professional interests in the areas of:
Mountaineering and Adventure Keynote Speaking Human Resource Development Education and Training Writing Photography and Cinematography Health and Well-being
Often my work is a mix of these, e.g. I climb a mountain, then I write a book about it, which is illustrated with my photographs. But before any of this can happen there is the hard work of achieving maximum fitness and psychological readiness - both are good preparation for any major task, from climbing a mountain to writing a book or launching a new business.
The following paragraphs cover different aspects of my professional life, and some personal aspects as well. You can read them as you scroll through or you can Click on the INDEX if you'd like to be more selective in your reading. The "At Work" categories are covered more fully in dedicated pages, shown as tabs (links) in the menu bar above.
